The Backstory

DryTackle was founded out of necessity.

I found myself tired of opening my tackle boxes only to find rust forming on my expensive lures like swimbaits. So I upgraded to the Plano Edge tackle boxes to solve this problem. Which helped, but didn’t solve the problem.

The new problem was the lack luster amount of silica gel beads within the Water Wick™ that comes with the tackle boxes. When you fish as much as I do, and have a boat on the water, those little Water Wick™ containers just don’t contain enough silica gel beads to get the water out of the tackle box for very long.

As a problem solver felt the need to take this product and fit it to my needs. So I started designing these products for myself and put noticed a significant improvement compared to the original ones. Overtime, whenever someone saw them, they asked what they are and how do they work. After they heard the story they asked where to buy them, and thus DryTackle was formed.

The Team

I am a one man shop here. I have a full-time job within the aerospace industry and do this at nights and on the weekends. I’ve been an avid designer and 3D printing since 2013. So please be patient with me when I am slow to ship. Sometimes I’m waiting for more filament to come in or I’m just busy fishing or working.

I am based in the suburbs of Houston, Texas I have been an avid fisher all my life from fly fishing to deep sea fishing I love them all, but I spend most of my time inshore fishing for Redfish. I fish from a boat and a kayak depending on how shallow I want to go. I mainly fish between Galveston Bay to Matagorda Bay.
